When working with an aging population, the most challenging aspect I experienced was
malnutrition. The elderly often experience malnutrition because they engage in changing their
dietary habits, consume either little or much food and also have poor dentition. As a human
service leader, the issue of malnutrition among the elderly was challenging, and after conducting
much research, more factors were linked to the issue too. The aging populations use drugs more
often and thus tend to experience adverse drug reactions; causing them to change their eating
patterns and also further lead to malnutrition(Turner, 2017). Physiological changes also lead to
malnutrition because organs like kidney end up failing to function and memories deficits may
also not make them remember their diets well.
As a multidisciplinary human service and public service leader, I experienced strengths
when working with the aging adults. Some of the powers included increasing productivity among
the elderly, enabling sharing of wealth with younger generations and boosting their health and
quality of life. I would keep the elderly busy so that they contribute to light working
productivity, enabled documenting of inheritance and made sure they followed the right nutrition
and taking of drugs to increase health and life quality. I would love to improve quality of life and
health further by enabling prevention of diseases among the elderly and early lifestyle
promotion.
Others view my multidisciplinary human service interests and abilities to be diverse
because I consider all related factors when dealing with the elderly. The diversity is focused on
physical, mental, social, biological, psychological, and demographic issues affecting the
