Introduction
Labor
Labor refers to the activities that have the corresponding in regards to the biological process
that takes place in the body of a human. It is the work that is mostly in line with the association of
fertility, repetition, necessity, consumption. The general usage of labor can be associated with the
term manual work where it entails the repetitive process of mass production of the necessary goods
used for consumption purposes (Arendt, 1998, p. 90). Labouring is the activity which requires
sustaining life that involves eating, digesting and the general physical care.
The concept of laboring primarily originated from rising out the ideology for a passionate
striving for freedom from the necessity of enslavement. Laboring was also the condition of no less
intense on every effort made and left with no traces of either monument, no great work that can be
remembered among others (Arendt, 1998, p. 95). Therefore, in the modern age, the principle of
the division of labor is used for describing the segments of the department of labor into sections
having no or expressing no meaning in the activity done.
Consequence of labor
Labor result to various effects as determined by the existence of humanity. That is because
the actions of labor are commended by the nature of necessity where human being as a laborer has
a similarity of being a slave. It because labor has a characteristic of the need or feeling of being
unfreedom (Arendt, 1998, p. 110). As a result, the recognition of job, as opposed to freedom, is
the distinctive feature in human underlying the slavery institution.
