In the modern world, trade has advanced significantly with sellers preferring to source

internationally because of quality and cost aspects. Similarly global trade management is very

critical in international trade as it helps in ensuring that the whole life-cycle of global trade

constituting of an order, logistics, as well as the settlement activities are streamlined so as to

improve operating efficiencies and cash flow. Basically, logistics life cycle is a process in

international trade that constitutes of planning, development, implementation as well as the

maintenance of a comprehensive, cost effective as well as logistics system support plan (Ryan,

2006). Despite the common perception that logistics life cycle system can be costly, complex, as

well as far reaching in operation and geographic factors. The application of a logistics life‐cycle

can act as a prompt in developing plan for sending products from South Africa to Canada and

Germany.

In developing the plan on how to send the product from South Africa to Canada and

Germany based on the logistics life cycle, the organization would start by preparing a plan phase

of the cycle. This would phase would entail elements such as getting the product requirements in

both Canada and Germany which would include urgency and quality, gathering information

about the product such as perishability, manufacturing duration. In addition, under this phase the

organization should establish the relevant legal proceeds that it is required to comply with in

order to facilitate smooth shipment of good from South Africa to Canada and Germany.

Therefore, the organization should at this stage understand and document importation

requirements for Canada and Germany. This is essential as it would help the organization in

determining an accurate lead time as well as cost estimation. A logistic manager will greatly
