PROMOTING CLINICAL PRACTICE 2
In the healthcare system, nurses and patients are the key individuals responsible for the
lack of efficient and effective clinical practice. In the case of the nurses, they lack motivation;
adequate knowledge and limited access to care resources that can help them enhance clinical
practice (Stanhope and Lancaster, 2014). On the other hand, some patients tend to be ignorant
regarding seeking routine screening services and immunization to protect them from developing
serious illnesses. Thus, the care system should work educating the nursing practitioners and
patients on how they can improve clinical practice. This paper describes various approaches and
preventative services that can promote the clinical practice and overcome the barriers to delivery
of holistic care.
Knowledge and motivation are one of the significant barriers to effective care delivery
and clinical practice. Care organizations should make an effort to improve the knowledge of the
medical practitioners. The knowledge gained by the care providers from health research should
be translated into clinical practice. At times the information in research materials tends to be
conflicting and thus making it difficult for the nurses to determine the best treatment options for
patients. Care organizations should offer support to their staff regarding how to implement the
research findings in clinical practice. In turn, clinical practice is promoted by integrating
knowledge obtained through research into the practice.
Also, care organizations should find ways in which they can motivate the medical staff.
Most of the care facilities lack adequate staff that can work towards providing quality and
holistic care to patients. By increasing the number of staff in the organizations, the existing
personnel will be motivated to work and promote clinical practice (Steptoe and Freedland, 2010).
In addition to the support of the care organization to providers at the time of implementing
research findings, the staff should be allowed access to medical facilities. Clinical effective care
