The government of the United States has an obligation to look into various issues that

affect its people and perform several reforms to shape their existence. Research on these areas is

necessary in order to give the proper direction to the government. One area which needs

intensive research is the changing of the tax rates on those people earning over $250,000 in a

year. Another crucial area is in the transportation sector whereby there is a question of whether

the government should change the security regulations. Finally, the possibility of increasing

taxes on alcohol and tobacco to help finance the medical costs.

To start with, the topic of changing the tax rates for people who make more than

$250,000 in a year is important for a research (Fox, 2010). This topic takes a better chance due to

the recent taxes that are imposed on this class. It is necessary to consider that this is the class that

distinguishes between the middle-class earners and the rich.

This group is also the most taxed among all categories of the earners in the United States.

As a transition, it is neither in the middle nor in the rich category (Huang, 2012). Therefore, the

changing of the taxes imposed on people earning this amount will significantly impact their

lifestyle negatively.

The second research area is the possibility and effects of changing the transportation

regulations associated with the Transport Security Administration. This body engages in offering

the required security detail to various modes of transport. The personnel involved in these

activities follow various rules and guidelines which have been designed by the government

(Edwards, 2013).
