Employment laws for bakery
Discrimination: Discrimination can come in any form at the workplace. Refusing the customer
on the basis of color, creed, caste, gender, etc, will be punishable under offense or at the
discretion of higher authorities.
Sexual Harassment: All the stakeholders of the bakery should be treated respectfully. Indulging
in any kind of sexual harassment will be punishable under offense and liable to pay fine of
$1000.
Progressive Discipline Policy: The employees are expected to maintain discipline within the
premises. Anyone found indulged in any kind of indiscipline activity will be given warning letter
for first two times. After that, there will be the permanent suspension.
Wage and Hour: The minimum wages will be $12 per hour and will be paid on the Semi-
monthly basis. There will be additional wages for overtime work after 40 hours per week at $15
per hour, or as agreed with higher authorities.
Leave/Vacation Policies: The employees can avail 12 casual leaves for one year, one week paid
holiday leave and 15 medical leaves per year on being admitted to hospital. Casual leaves will
not carry forward to next year, while medical leaves will carry forward to next year. More than 3
leaves at one stretch will be treated as Leave Without Pay.
Dress code: Employees are expected to be in the dress code for all the working days. Wearing
casuals will result in the warning letter for first two times, thereafter fine of $100 will be
accumulation basis.
