DEFORESTATION 2
Deforestation
Introduction
Deforestation if the act of cutting forest trees for human benefit. Deforestation can occur
due to the conversion of forest lands into farms or ranches and in most cases, deforestation
occurs due to the conversion of the trees into raw materials to produce other products such as
books and also to be a source of firewood. It is evident that a high level of deforestation usually
happens in the tropical rain forests such as the Amazon rainforest. Two-thirds of the Amazon
rainforest is usually situated in the Brazilian land and due to this the Amazon rainforest has
experienced a high level of deforestation in the past years. The Amazon rainforest is a home and
habitat for most species of animals and humans but due to the high level of deforestation is has
led to the extinction of some of the species of animal and also it has affected the daily lives of
some of the people who live in this place. Due to the high level of deforestation, the Brazilian
government in collaboration with the Global Forest Watch came up with new methods and
techniques to watch and tackle this increasing problem. As we all know, the forest is a very
important aspect of animals and human survival and it has great benefits for all of as if we only
take care of our natural environment. Destruction and deforestation have a negative impact to our
environment as it has increased the level of global warming to our environment and also the sea
level has actually gone down due to this situation (Badger & Dirmeyer, 2016).
