Making Impact within Neumann University Community
The community of a particular university comprises the entire institution and the
surroundings. The university has a responsibility of developing and embracing the surroundings
through various programs. As a student, I have a role in impacting the university community in
different ways. The institutions of higher learning do not exist in isolation because of time to
time interactions with the community in which they are located.
First and foremost, I will help in conducting a teach-in on the school reforms for the
adults and students. I will take the active part in teaching parents, students and the members of
the community concerning the changes. I will give precise information on how the school
reforms take place, and this will be important in getting more voices on the table. The members
of the community are stakeholders in Neumann University, and as a result, they should be
involved in any reform. Another way of impacting the university community is by starting a
resource library within the community. I will gather materials from the Internet which will assist
me in developing the successful campaign to improve the school and get inspiration to do more.
I will share the links with parents, friends, teachers and other people. They include websites,
books and the organizations working on the student organizing, school improvement, and youth
power.
Furthermore, I will volunteer to take part in community-based programs organized by the
university. The Neumann University is keen on keeping the environment clean and free from any
form of pollution. I will be on the forefront in cleaning the environment and enlightening the
