CONFLICT RESOLUTION 2
Conflict Resolution
Part A
When undertaking projects in companies, there is the likelihood of facing conflicts
among the workers. As a result, a project manager has a role to play in ensuring that all the
employees work towards the achievement of the goals of the project. Conflicts have an adverse
impact on the outcomes of projects and this call for the intervention of the project manager in
creating a healthy working environment. However, some strategies exist which can help in
ensuring that there are no conflicts between the participants in the project design and
implementation.
In case of conflict when implementing a project, utilization of collaboration approach
would lead to a successful outcome. The method will involve both cooperation and assertiveness
where the workers will have to realize that they cannot avoid conflicts but have to accommodate
each of the workers regardless of their differences. As a project manager, looking into the
problems facing the employees as they play their different roles will help in determining the best
solution that will bring the workers together so that they work towards the achievement of
common goals. Pinpointing the conflicts will assist in identifying the individual needs of the
employees in the organization (Thomas & Kilmann, 2017). On the other hand, determining the
causes of a disagreement will form a foundation for which the project team will have a way of
solving the conflict and having all employees working towards the success of the company.
Solving the interpersonal problems will give the best method of having a healthy working
environment and corporate culture that will facilitate teamwork. The project manager will act as
the leader of the group and ensure that there is reconciliation between the team members.
