Analysis on Walmart
1. Walmart is a US-based firm that involves retail and wholesale business.
2. Walmart offers an assortment of goods and services at low prices. Walmart operates
4,300 stores and facilities across the US. The services offered are retail goods, pharmacy,
financial, wireless, and photo lab services.
3. (a) Walmart's price changes in home furnishing products can signal value for sellers and
buyers (Rajan, 2020). It is so because an increase in the price value of the furnishings will
require the sellers to increase their selling price, and thus the buyers will purchase the
product at higher prices, thus interfering with their purchasing power.
(b) An increase in the furnishing products may indicate to its competitors an opportunity
to lower their prices or offer discounts to the same product to increase their customers
base. A decrease in the product's price becomes a threat to the competitors, for they
will have to slightly lower their prices of the same product to sustain their customers.
With this, the competition stiffens.
(c) An increase in the product price will indicate inflation to customers, thus increasing
the cost of living in the country. A decrease in product prices will interfere with the
equilibrium in the market. Manufacturing the product will be less profitable; thus,
there will be a shortage of the product in the market due to the high demand for the
product (Marr, 2017).
(d) With technology, the time spent on tasks is reduced, and the chances of human error
are also reduced. With this, the company will operate more efficiently, reduce costs
and improve communication with the client. Such a process will decrease the prices
of products due to eased work.
