CYBERBULLYING 2
INFORMATIVE SPEECH
Cyberbullying
Should cyberbullying be addressed in schools or by parents? I think this is a question that
can be debated for days without a conclusion, but I say yes! It should be addressed in school
because school systems do not put bullying of any kind as their primary concern. Cyberbullying
is linked with emotion and physical suffering of the victims (Smith, 2008).
For many years now, government and social societies have been fighting cyberbullying,
but to a certain extent this act has not come a close, as a man some say; to educate a person in
mind and not in, morals is like to educate a menace to the society. This is to say that
cyberbullying is an act that many who practice it do not know whether it affects other people in
the community or not.
Cyberbullying is defined as unwanted, aggressive conduct among the majority of youths;
it involves perceived threats or intentional actions that can be aimed towards a particular person
or community. I would address a couple of Cyberbullying measures that are known, and others
are not known, but according to laws put in place such acts are unlawful (Hoff, 2009).
Some of the incidences that can be described as cyberbullying include; it can be done
through Picture or post messages. These actions are experienced by many victims of this acts;
offenders usually send pictures that are offending to a particular person knowing very well that
such images will affect that person psychologically. For instance, a picture that is showing an
individual community being threatened or humiliated and the person that same picture was sent
to belong to that particular society (Smith, 2008).
Secondly, hate speech messages or post, this is most experienced from political divide
point of view, for instance, Democrats threatening republicans or republicans threatening
Democrats. Many countries particularly when there are many tribes some tribes feel superior to
others. Thus they tend to send hate speech messages via social media (Hinduja, 2010).
Thirdly, some bullies harass the victim through texts or emails; random emails are sent
by some unknown individual whose primary intention is to attack and undermine victims
values, as well mock them. Some other gang up on victims by making them subject of ridicule
