Collective bargaining is a process of negotiation between the employer and the group of
employees with an aim of agreeing on regulation on working salaries, working condition,
benefits and other aspect related to work contracts. During the discussion of the work contract
between the union's representatives, disagreements arise that requires inventions to resolve
dispute successfully (Ololube, 2016)
Disagreements are inevitable in the collective bargaining process. The use of negotiation leads to
a realization of agreements in the disputes. The parties involve negotiating without an external
party. The parties involved recognize the principles of the collective bargaining terms. All the
parties involved imply the willingness to seek results in good faith, the demands of the other part.
Mediation is also used in dispute settling. An outside part intervenes in an effort to seek
conciliation in the parties involved. The mediator encourages the part to settle the disputes, he
sources facts from both parties for dispute settlement. Moreover, and voluntary arbitration can be
used to settle disputes. The parties involved voluntary place the dispute to the third part. All part
agrees to fact that the decision of the arbitrator shall be binding on them. Negation method is the
best among other methods; this is because it’s quick, inexpensive and private to the members
involved only (Ololube, 2016).
