Job satisfaction is a very important reason for any organization to increase its
productivity. Most organizations face the challenge of making sure that, there is
employee satisfaction in the working environment. This is simply to make sure that the
organization stays competitive in the job market. Organizations that fail to improve or satisfy the
employees face the risk of losing the talented workforce to their competitors. Managers and
supervisors keep up the creative abilities; increase the potential and the entire workforce talents
who have a higher competitive advantage. Employees engaged in such jobs have a greater level
of being satisfied with the working conditions (Hedge & Borman, 2012).
It is the manager's responsibility to make sure higher level of job satisfaction. The main
idea of leadership is to improve performance of employees and machine, to increase quality
output and bring workmanship pride to the people. A satisfying working environment is one that
allows workers to feel the sense of pride in whatever they do. The following steps are used to
improve on job satisfaction within an organization in various cultures according to Hofstede.
Providing a positive working environment is the first step, in ensuring
employee satisfaction. According Hofstede dimensions, the best way to find what motivates a
person is by finding out what turns them on. It is the most crucial factor in the process. To make
sure that the employee are motivated and satisfied, it requires going beyond the worker’s duties
and provide for their needs. In United States cultures, employees are provided with excellent
working environment compared to a country like Somalia. Services such as Employees
Assistance centers are strategically located, discount programs for the employees, transportation
means are available to workers such as bus passes, among others. Companies realize by ensuring
