I think each of these artwork represents a particular theme and mood shaped by palette colors,
among other features. In the interpretation of artistic work, people tend to associate the specific
color with the theme. Moreover, artwork best resonates with us, which means it captures
different realities of the world. In the three pieces of art, I think the colors used by the specific
artists depict some sense of unease, including the fascinating pictures by Alice Aycock in the
Collected Ghost Stories from Workhouse. Every piece of art seems to demonstrate or rather
represent human life after death and the major issues accompanying the afterlife.
The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali portrays human creations. Whilst the organic
aspects of the artwork remain intact, the clock melts and wears off. One can infer from the
content of the art that time will get diminished or rather run out in an ideal world. As such, it is
comparable with the Collected Ghost stories of the Workhouse by Alice Aycock in the sense that
both arts signal things happening afterlife. Salvador Dali piece of art is composed of impressive
glass and wood, which gives humans hope for life after death. Moreover, Alice Aycock's piece
captures human kind creations about whether ghosts exist and what they look like. In the third art
by Paul Gauguin, I think it represents that non-western perspective about the afterlife. The spirits
or ancestors keep watch for the mortal in their quest to ensure their safety. I believe the spirit
resembles a guardian in an ideal world who is mandated to provide protection.
The three pieces are intertwined by themes of human creations and humankind's mortality. Given
that humans are curious about what happens in the afterlife, the pieces shed light on what to
expect. Overall, the arts represent different versions of human thinking after death because the
view and perspective of the afterlife vary from one culture to the other.
