Business Question 6
The balanced scorecard has four main components of a balanced scorecard; however, the two
most important are the financial component and the customer perspective component. The
financial component is critical because it measures or indicates the ability of a firm to control its
costs including the operating costs and the ability for the enterprise to yield returns on its
investments. The second component is customer perspective. This measures the level of
customer satisfaction, the scope of the market share and the customer retention level for a firm.
The two components matter much in understanding how sustainable a firm is likely to be in the
long run.
