Flexible Work Schedules
Flexible Work Schedules and Employee Contribution
Flexible work schedules are essential in the maximization of employee contribution.
They ensure that employees can work from anywhere in the world, even when they are on the
move, as long as they have the right technology. This helps eliminate the barriers that may exist
when limiting work to office hours (o2ukbusiness, 2012). The flexible work schedules will also
allow the employees to have a better work-life balance than when they are under fixed work
schedules. This work-life balance increases job satisfaction and eventually productivity, which
can make employees maximize their contribution. These flexible work schedules also allow the
employees to set their own goals according to their jobs. It may then lead to the maximization of
contribution. The employee will strive to achieve these goals removing all obstacles and
sometimes increasing their work hours since they are in an environment that they chose to work
from. Flexible work schedules also force the management to evaluate the workers on the results
that they achieve. The fixed work schedule may lead to managers focusing on the hours worked,
which does not always amount to increased contribution. However, the managers in a flexible
work schedule do not have time or work hours to measure contribution by coercing them to focus
on the essential elements, which are the results achieved.
