In the most identical or basic definition, product design is the way of forming or creating
a new commodity in order customer to buy them such as services or goods. In most of the time
this is where you weigh, predict as well as plan the effectiveness of your product, therefore,
product design is claimed to be critical toward business. In some cases, product design is most
likely to be customer driven or product driven. However, former is actually a way of enlarging a
commodity depending on the wish of the company so as to have their target of giving the market
what they never had an idea that they needed. It can also claim that its basement is not on the
straight requirements or the needs that the customers were intentionally clamouring for. Product
driven designing as illustrated is actually more of a commodity to buyers approach where the
transaction is mostly based on the organization’s assessment perspective of the needed for the
purpose of improving performance like market share, positioning, reputation, sales etc. While on
the other side, customer driven designing basically based on the assessment of the organization
research as well as information that suggested buyers needs to have. This is the straightforward
method of serving the needs of the buyers because the organization is responding straight to
buyers needs (Khan, Christopher, & Burnes, 2008).
However, product design is actually a 3 stage procedure whereby the department of
marketing usually spots as well as establishes the needs of the product, design group works so as
to develop a prototype, thereafter the manufacturing engineers make up the manufacturing of the
product within a cost-efficient toward the company. According to what cycle suggests, there are
two departments which are responsible for handling product designing, these departments
include marketing as well as production department. These two departments are the ones ruling
the process, even though in some cases in the process there is need the involvement of another
