Do you agree with applying the 70/20/10 formula to leadership development? Why or why
not?
Yes, I agree with applying 70/20/10 formula to leadership development because leadership is all
about a year of experience at the particular position. More the experience more will be the
capability to lead others. Same is the concept explained by 70/20/10 formula. 70 percent of
knowledge comes from experience related to the job, 20 percent through interaction with
superiors and 10 percent from classroom teaching. The requirements for leadership development
are knowledge of job-related skills, addressing challenges, making decisions, and interaction
with powerful people like boss or leader. The majority of the role is played by the self-
experience of the person. Hence, leadership development is possible by 70/20/10 formula. (“The

What are at least 4 ways organizations can support and reinforce coaching efforts with on-
the-job experiences? Be very specific and give examples of where you have seen this happen
in your own work experienceor conversely where your professional development was

There are numerous ways an organization can support coaching with on-the-job experiences.
1. Face to face interaction with subordinates in order to guide them how to perform the task
during the job. For example, a manager at garment manufacturing provides coaching to
new workers on the job. He guides them each and every process related to the
manufacturing process.
2. Lecture method helps in enhancement of skills during coaching process. For example, a
garment manufacturing organization hires an expert on the regular basis who gives
