ENTRANCE AND EXIT CRITERIA 2
Entrance and Exit Criteria
A Test Criteria is a guideline on which a judgment or procedure of a test is based. There
are three criteria, that is, the entry criteria, the suspension criteria, and the exit criteria.
The Entry criteria
The entry criteria make sure that there is a proper environment that can support the whole
test process system (Fong, 2016). All items must come together at the entry criteria. All these
tools for the test hardware platforms have to be successfully installed, configured and also
functioning properly. The tools for the standard software such as the testing tools have to be
installed successfully and also functioning properly. At this stage, the architecture’s documents
and designs have to be available. The personnel who will work in this system test effort have to
have the required training on how to use the tools during the process of testing. Proper test
information or data must be available. A good example of an entry criteria is verifying whether
the Test environment is accessible as well as ready for use. Another example is verifying
whether the Test Data in accessible and verified for correctness of information.
Exit Criteria
Before exiting the system, it is good to ensure satisfactory completion of the entire
project application. Therefore the exit criteria ensure that the application offers the needed
services. It also ensures that the documentation of the application is complete and updated. At
this stage, 100 percent of all priority one and two bugs must have been resolved. You can define
exit criteria by specifying a focused run and pass rate (Fong, 2016). The retrieval of run and pass
data is done from Test Metric documents. For example, your team has finished the test
