Organizations that adopt a chase strategy are always focused on matching demand and
supply of their products or services. In other words, their supply matches the demand for their
products or services in each time period. During summer times and holidays, many people travel
the most thus demand at airline call center hits the maximum level. In such cases, there is need
for the airline management to acquire adequate resources such as equipment and worker to
facilitate their smooth operation. In so doing, the management encounter challenges as they are
required to decide whether to hire more personnel or reduce the number of workers to suit their
budget. More so, firing and recruiting people requires money and takes time. Therefore, chase
strategy is used in this case to as management will adapt the amount of help required. In a
nutshell, a chase strategy is used by business to ensure their objectives are met. Besides, it aids
organizations to cut down on the amount of resources wasted (Bracher, Astrid, et al. 44). That is,
the strategy ensures that the available resources are well utilized as it will be cost-effective
during high or low seasons.
On the contrary, adoption of a chase strategy at an airline call center or any other type of
business has its disadvantages. Some scholars have argued that adopting such a strategy may

create a dent in the businesses budget. In addition, if such a strategy is adopted by airline call
centers, the management may not properly forecast the amount of resources needed at a given
period of time. Since more people are hired when demand is high and fired when demand
reduces, many people have moved to other fields or profession citing job security as their reason.
One will be deemed right if he/she argued that adopting chase strategy does not guarantee
development of careers for employees. Besides, this strategy may not work for businesses in
which competition for labor is intense or skills are scarce. Also, a competent staff will not be
maintained if chase strategy is used as it involves hiring and firing depending on the seasons.
Even though some have argued that chase strategy is good to airline call center, other have
commented that it appears to be a harsh strategy to workers.

Material requirements planning (MRP) is an inventory control and planning system
developed by engineer Orlicky Joseph. The material requirements planning system can be used
in three different ways at a restaurant or any other business. First and foremost, the use of the
system at a restaurant moderate wastes by sustaining only the lowest possible product and
materials levels in stock. For example, restaurants deliver their services and products to
consumer basing on the demands they receive. In this case, the restaurants are able to maintain a
proper stock level at all times.
Also, restaurants apply MRP system to guarantee the availability of appropriate materials for
production and the required services or products are accessible for consumers to elude shortages.
Besides, MRP system help those working at a restaurant to plan manufacturing functions,
