ETHICAL POSITION 2
Ethical Position
Develop an ethical position about the problem facing clinical placement in our nursing
programs today
Insufficient competence of nursing instructors is one of the major ethical issues of
clinical placement in our contemporary nursing programs. The proficiency of a trainer is often
influenced by various issues such as an unfitting method in utilizing instructional schemes,
ineffectual clinical management, less academic as well as practical groundwork and marred
assessment. According to Baraz, Memarian, and Vanaki (2015), some instructors may strive to
disengage themselves from clinical instruction. Therefore, most learners may experience poor
turnout from their tutors at the clinical tuition courses thus damage of instructional openings. The
insufficient presence of an instructor in clinical wards may lead to loss of confidence and less
control of a given situation.
Rafiee, Moattari, Nikbakht, Kojuri, and Mousavinasab (2014), argue that most
instructors lack enough time and they employ inappropriate clinical evaluation strategies. One
instructor confessed that they lack time to even write anecdotal notes, and they cannot touch all
the clinical aims within the petite span of time that is provided. Some instructors assess scholars
when they have completed their school term and they tend to give them higher scores thus
evading the student’s grievances regarding their marks. Rafiie et al. (2014), underline that the
medical setting is changeable and its sustenance may be beyond the instructor’s abilities and
student trainees may not reach similar stages of competency in a certain span. Therefore
instructors may not establish the student's competencies in an adequate manner.
