The Ralph Lauren Corporation controversial Decision
The process of making decisions within a business takes the significant risk for the
company. Some of these decisions are controversial. An example of a controversial business
decision made by a local company is the closure of around 50 stores by the Ralph Lauren
business enterprise with the beginning of the closure of the Polo Store in Manhattan. The Ralph
Lauren Corporation has in the previous years emerged as a global leader in marketing, design,
and distribution of lifestyle products that are a premium in nature. The products are grouped
regarding fragrances, apparel, accessories, and home. The organization has cut across major
global markets over their years, but its recent decision to shut some of its stores have developed a
lot of controversy in regards as to whether the decision is right or wrong.
(1, Premise) The iconic apparel company has been competing well and reaching major
markets in the world. However, for the past few years, the company has seen a sink in their
profits and also a fall in the sales within its shopping environment. This phenomenon has been
catalyzed by the rise of new e-commerce players as well as the entry of fast-fashion players
within the industry. This aspect has necessitated a restructuring decision for the company
through the closure of some of the stores. (1, Conclusion) The decision of the firm can be
termed as good.
(2, Conclusion)The decision to close some of the stores of the organization is right
because in the first place it will cut the cost. (2, Premise) The company explains that by closing
