Analysis of the human forms and Naturalism:
Early medieval Art can be referred to as an amalgamation of ancient artistic perception of
the Roman Empire, the barbarian artistic culture, and the art from the early Christian Church. As
a result of this art style, the art has become more stylized, thus missing the traditional naturalism
of the Middle Ages and Graeco-Roman times. The human form is shown as images from the Bible,
and the right door shows the life of Jesus while the left door shows the scenes from the book of
Genesis. The appendix has included the images of the bronze panel door. The human forms have
been carved as tallow tables or an iron frame supported huge.
From the analysis of the picture, it can be said that the doors look like a great effort has
been put to add "naturalism" into the various human forms and not CONTRAPPOSTO. From the
observation, it can be said that the main focus behind the sculpture is symbolism. For instance, the
Bernwood Doors symbolize the various scenes from the Book of Genesis (Couzin, 2021).
Distinction from traditional Greco-Roman Art:
Moreover, the essential part of the artwork is that the architect diverges from a traditional
model of the "central plan church." The new artwork is based on drawing inspiration rather than
longitudinally based Roman Basilica. The Ottonians art has adopted the distinctive "Carolingian"
double-ended diversification on the Roman Basilica. The art can be seen featuring apses at both
ends of the door rather than just one.
