A requirement to develop a technology project proposal for a small firm, a networked 20-staff
office 10 of which are using wired desktops and the rest wireless laptops and a laser printer
accessible from all devices.
INTRODUCTION
All business firms in the world channels all their efforts, decisions and resources towards
maximization of profits and revenues while minimizing their costs and expenses. To achieve
this, effective development models have to be developed and right decisions implemented to
increase efficiency, accuracy and a general increase in productivity. Seeing all these efforts put
in practice with the necessary resources, tools, and objectives as well as venturing in the right
production activity leads to a firm intensifying its profits.
The business world is changing abruptly in relation to changing technological processes and
advancements. In order for a firm to maintain competitive power and capability in the modern
market, effective structures must be designed to match the changing market trends. This is an
exclusive adoption of information technology (IT) which is the backbone of all business success
today (Peterson & Davie, 2007).
Even though IT is a ‘golden boot that all firms should have, associated high costs such as the
purchase of resources and training of manpower.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
All firms have a desire to raise their revenues, maintain their competitive energy in the market
