Sands of Crime
Introduction
The episode is about the College co-ed who was abducted in the early morning hours, and
it was just before Christmas. Later the same day, her body was found, and after having the forensic
report, it was revealed that she was being shot at blank rage after getting raped. Eight years have
passed, and the case has become cold. But the cell phone and the pair of shoes brought life to the
cold case. The following report is based on the case analysis to learn how forensic science can be
used to solve important and cold cases.
Evidences in the case
Julie, the victim of the case, completed all her major bachelor courses until Christmas, but
when her parents went to her apartment to get her, she was not there, and her car was also missing.
The major catch was when the neighbor heard the male voice and women screening, after
which the car left the scene. Julie's body was found 12 hours after she went missing, and her hands
were tried with shoelaces. The case went blank for eight years when the evidence at the scene
could not be used to have any clue of Julie's death. Some of the essential details in the case are that
the apartment was in perfect condition while the car was also dropped by, the car had the red sand
that shows that the criminal did not get rid of the car.
The phone records of Julie's show that her cell phone was used while the footprint at the
river bank also serves as an essential catch because the police found a size 9 Nike male shoe.
