The purpose of the project
The research proposal seeks to investigate the impacts of enhancing patient sleep at night, as a
tool for quality improvement, on the healthcare sector. For many years, health care sector has
had its focus on market-based services. However, the modern health care has shifted to focusing
on the welfare of the patients. One of the issues addressing the patient’s welfare is providing a
quiet environment at night for the patients. The health care managers have the hospital goals
aligned with the patient satisfaction. It is therefore a necessity to carry out research on the
positive effects of ensuring patient sleep. This approach helps in the identification of quality gaps
and brainstorms the necessary actions towards bridging of the same loopholes. The project works
towards acquiring feedback from the patients who have undergone treatment within a specified
healthcare facility. Thompson, D. N., et al, 2003). Their views and perceptions are obtained and
kept in records for reference in decision making. This helps the healthcare managers to strategize
on the appropriate actions that need to be implemented for quality improvement. Furthermore,
patient sleep at night has been identified as the key component of quality improvement within
the health care sector. (Frampton, S., et al, 2008). Therefore, it is required of any healthcare
organization to embrace quietness at night, as an initiative to quality improvement.
The target population
The project is meant to target both the hospital staff and the patients. It focuses on the top
management of the healthcare organizations as well as the clinical staff. The project addresses
various issues that are required of every healthcare manager in order to run the healthcare
facilities smoothly. It is an initiative of every healthcare manager to ensure that the patients
