initiative, but the most common one is that of Microsoft via the LinkedIn page, where Microsoft
has a headline stating, ‘Do What You Love.' This heading provides details on available job
openings, benefits and the life experience at Microsoft to the company followers. Through this
page, Microsoft recruiters can be easily be contacted.
My experience with the initiative was splendid. Before, I was not aware that one could
easily communicate with a Microsft recruiter without any barrier. Microsoft is a multinational
company with many potential employees. I also happened to have an experience with one of
their blogs where I was able to ask specific questions related to the jobs they offer and learn
more about the interview mistakes that people made. According to me, this is the best tactics that
employers can use as it attracts many unique talents.
I think that these initiatives have a significant impact on the organization’s quest for
unique talent. The labor market is currently competitive, and the strategy brings together diverse
groups of people to share results and brainstorm ideas. For instance, Microsoft has a Talent

others. Through this initiative, organization interacts with the community through the
communication of culture and values of the company. It will attract individuals who are ready to
experience life at the organization and provide a competitive advantage.
Question Two
Contingent employees have a conditional relationship with employers about time and
other factors like payment. Most companies prefer this kind of employment because of their
desire to have a flexible workforce. The increasing trend has highly been associated with the
impact that the Great Recession had on most companies, which made employers prefer a
contingent workforce. It enables them to hire employees for specific projects instead of having a
full-time workforce. Among the reasons why employers may prefer this tactic include the
flexibility that contingent workers provide to firms, the battle for talents, and the changes in the
legal environment.
The Great Recession forced many companies to lay off their employees, an experience
that affected both the employees and the company. Due to this problem, employers have resorted
to employing a flexible workforce, a workforce that contracts during bad economic times and
expands during good economic times. Or better still, an addition of employees is warranted.
Many employers view this tactic as a means of lowering their costs at the same time getting the
chance to tap skilled and rare talent in the market. It also helps employers navigate the legal risks
and tax issues that affect their companies. Companies avoid these risks by using third-party
staffing agencies who employ the workers.
