more on information systems are managed, maximizing the use of internet based technologies as
well as web-enabled information systems. According to Kivinen, & Lammintakanen, (2013), one
of the challenges is the speed and flexibility that is required when it comes to development,
manufacturing and delivery cycles. At times the time limits that are set do not allow for enough
time for developers. Another challenge comes with re-engineering and cross-functional integration
of the business process using internet technologies. The available internet technologies are not
programmed to carry out the function of re-engineering and integration. Another problem comes
with trying to bring together e-business and e-commerce into the strategies that the organization

requires a lot of resources in terms of money, times as well as manpower (O'Brien and Marakas,
2005).
