Noteworthy, team building is the process of bringing/gathering the right group of individuals to
perform a specific task as a unit for the benefit of the given project. Thus, it imperative to have
the right core team of individuals by considering factors, such as team size, overall team
composition, recruitment process, and team member exclusion and selection criteria. Besides,
according to Dyer and Jeffrey (214) an effective team strives to appreciate, understand, and
communicate with each other; hence, achieving the mission, visions, and goals of a given project
effectively and successfully.
Recruitment of an Effective Team
Subsequently, at the core of every team are people who associate interdependently to achieve the
set mission and goals of a given project (Shu-Chien, Weng, and William 91). Moreover, every
team member brings features that influence the capability of a team to accomplish its task-related
objectives as well as brings characters that affect how the persons in a team will operate together
as a unit. Essentially, team performance is dependent on the ability of team members to interact
and work cohesively. Therefore, it is indispensable to identify project parameters that are likely
to affect team composition and selection prior to choosing individual members of a team.
Besides, to build an effective unit, team recruitment should be based on task skills and team
skills. Worth a note, task parameters linked with emerging projects influence the requirement for
different individual capabilities. Hence, when recruiting a team, it is essential to identify what

requires to be achieved by the set project deadline. Equally important, when selecting individual
team members, a team leader should aim at selecting persons with the specification of skills
especially team and task specific competencies depending on the qualitative nature of the project
activities.
Correspondingly, when selecting an effective team, it is indispensable to recruit a team
basing on the requirements of the project. The objective of this phase is to identify the potential
abilities of team members basing on the activity skills needed for a successful team. Moreover,
different members of a unit differ in levels of skills, but it is paramount to consider recruiting a
team that possesses all the needed task skills. Besides, when selecting a team, it is crucial to
consider having a work team that operates in any generic team environs regardless of the
activities given, since team skills reflect the key requirements for the integration and
collaboration action on team activities. Lastly, it is important to optimize the team by considering
the individual team member skills and other characters that contribute to a high level of a
functioning team. Apparently, the role of a team leader is to not only reinforce the belief that
collaboratively, the team can achieve particular tasks for a successful project performance but
also recruiting an effective team that will work collaboratively for the success of a given project.
Diversity, Leadership, and Resources
Essentially, the success of a collaborative team depends not only on the combination of various
members skills but also on their diversified personalities of approaching and resolving issues.
Besides, embracing diversity aids in bringing together people of different experiences, cultures,
and background that can view issues and challenges from a wide array of lenses (Dyer and
Jeffrey 220). Furthermore, an effective team is achieved by having a wide range of personalities
who provide more potential solutions to challenging issues; thus, aiding in selecting the best
