Powerful Traits of Successful Leaders
Leaders must establish a strong force to identify an opportunity but what matters the most
is influencing employees to buy into the idea. After intensive research, two leaders made me
admire their traits the most, Martin Luther King and Dolly Parton. These are two distinct people
but maybe used a similar strategy to gain control of their leadership abilities.
Both King and Parton understood the power of engaging servants in the management
process. King implemented a charismatic leadership art to win the hearts of the American public
(Patel, 2017). It is that charisma that gained him followers all over the United States during the
civil rights movements, and helped end segregation in the country. Similarly, Dolly Parton had
the trait of connecting with her audience right from the start (Eisenhower, 2012). She constantly
reminded her followers that it is great to invest in the future rather than limiting one’s ability on
the current challenges.
All these traits are based on the mediator's personality. They were both kind and
generous, usually motivated by the eagerness to assist a good cause. However, Dolly Parton's
traits fascinate me the most. She was a leader who could give herself to assist employees to
succeed in any situation (Eisenhower, 2012). More often, she spends her time coaching and
establishing her people for the best. These are the ideal traits of a charismatic and a
transformational leader who motivates and inspires teams to achieve the desired group outcomes.
Each of them championed a change in a unique style. Dolly Parton managed to be
among the labeled Oprah of Appalachia by embracing the value of supporting and encouraging
employees while also taking into account the importance of her business (Eisenhower, 2012).
Also, King managed to establish awareness and humanity to the public's consciousness
