CORRELATION ANALYSIS 2
Section 1
The paper seeks to provide correlation analysis of the variables taken from the dataset
that contains teacher’s recording of the student’s demographics and a total score obtained on
the final exam and quizzes across three class section of the course. The total number of a
student being recorded is 105 where each section represents 35 students.
Variables
The variables used in the correlation analysis and their description is shown in Table 1.
Table 1
Variables
Description
Gender
Qualitative Variable and measured
on a Nominal Scale
GPA
Quantitative Variable ,Continuous
and measured on an interval scale
Final
Quantitative Variable, Continuous
and measured on a ratio scale.
Total
Quantitative Variable, Continuous
and measured on a ratio scale.
The type of correlation that can be measured by forming each pair of the variable, as shown
above, is given in Table 2.The sample size for each case is 105 which represents total number
of students.
Table 2.

As both the variables, “gpa and final” are measured on a continuous scale, therefore, the appropriate measure of association would be the Pearson correlation analysis. The independent variable is the gpa of the student and dependent variable is the fina ...
