The Mexican population has significantly increased in the country; a lot of them do not
have the capacity to communicate in English fluently. For a nurse trying to meet a patient of
Mexican origin who is not in a position to speak fluent English can bring a lot of communication
challenges. One of the clients I am expecting to meet is of the Mexican origin and cannot speak
fluent English. With the Mexican accent, the meeting will be a challenging one.
The patient is likely to have believed that he cannot be treated by female nurses and that
what he feels is what he should be treated for. He may have believed that the hospital should
have the traditional treatment methods from Mexico. This will be a challenge try to communicate
and explain to the patient that it would be difficult to get that kind of treatment. He may believe
that the nurse should provide all the services from the beginning up to the end may also arise.
This will be difficult trying to explain to him that he will have to go through different medical
checkup in the hospital. Being a typical Mexican, it will be a unique kind of conversation. This
might bring a different attitude from the one usually expressed by the American patients (Hsu,
Chang & Hsieh, 2015).
The meeting will take place in the hospital’s inquiry area which offers a better
atmosphere for the ill to ask any kind of questions they may be having. In the room, the nurse
gives a humble tie for the patient to explain the issues he is faced with. This also gives room for
the nurse to prescribe to the patients any medical issues needed. The patient who is 34 years old
has obesity and he is trying to find ways of reducing his body weight. He needs a plan from the
hospital on what he can do to reduce weight in the shortest time possible. This will be a
challenge trying to explain to him that the process of losing weight takes time. A lot of factors
