JOURNAL REVIEW 2
Summary
Study of Church Members During Crisis" by Howard Stone, David R. Cross, Karyn Purvis,
and Melissa J. Young was compiled to gain insight into the experiences of churchgoers when
presented with situational crisis and identify resources that were particularly relevant to them.
According to Stone, Cross, Purvis, and Young, there are times when "everyone goes through a
crisis," Stone Cross, Purvis, and Young. p. 405 of Stone, Cross, Purvis, and Young (2004) There
are two main sorts of crises that the writers of (2004) address. Situational crises are characterized
by four primary components: an externally harmful incident, one's assessment or perception of the

research shows that religious and spiritual beliefs play an important part in the disaster.

is a "vulnerability factor." According to a study published in 2004, "religious participation was
