SOCIOLOGY DATA ANALYSIS 2
1. Describe differences in illegal drug use based on race and ethnicity. Which racial
and ethnic groups are most likely to use each illegal drug?
Racial and ethnic minorities make up approximately a third of the total population in the
United States. These communities have different behavioral health needs and experience
different levels of mental and substance use disorders. People of color seem to experience a
significant burden of substance use disorders (Carliner, et al, 2016). This is because these

The whites constitute of over 50% of the US general population. This community is most

community is most likely to use crack. Another minority group is the Latinos. This group
