Appraisals
An appraisal is the procedure through which an individual, an object or a project success
or failure is measured. This is mainly done by a supervisor, colleague or by a non partisan panel.
The main aim is to try and find ways of improving the subject under appraisal. The 360 degrees
feedback is one of the best ways to conduct an appraisal session. This is because it gathers
information from relevant sources with a inclusive consultation that covers all critical questions.
The behavioral checklist looks at certain criteria that if followed would deliver results. It is
individual based hence favorable. Psychological approval on the other hand looks at the
intellectual capacity, stability of the emotions, psychological build up and analytical skills
(Folkman & Susan, 2013). These three are the best ways because they focus on the important
aspects of one’s life and abilities hence will give comprehensive findings about the person’s
ability.
A supervisor has the most reliable influence to conduct an appraisal. This is because he or
she spends more time with the candidates more than anyone else. Therefore, on the other hand,
candidates tend to try and impress the supervisor to as to earn a good score. Friendships forged

supervisor should stay focused and separate personal life and pleasure. However closer he or she
is to the person being appraised, there should be a clear line between friendships or casual
clothing lines (Claus, Jasper). By observing this, it is wise to conclude that all friendly teams are
important and very hospitable
