There were a few components that prompted to the expansion of conservatism amid this
day and age. One, was the Vietnam War. It was exorbitant and demonstrated excessively for
America to deal with. It fiscally depleted America on its economy and brought on a financial
increment on the federal debt through the 1970s. All through the time of the war, quite a number
of Americans begun to scrutinize their inclusion in the war and any future wars to come. Most
Americans saw the Vietnam War as an unwinnable war. Second, was the disclosure of the
Pentagon Papers which demonstrated the United States basic leadership in regard to the Vietnam
War. Information contained in these papers had a negative impact on the trust that the American
individuals had on the federal government. Third, The Iranian Hostage Crisis of 1979 turned out
to be a major disappointment when then President Jimmy Carter refused to negotiate an
understanding for the hostages' release (Carter, 2003).
One group that conservatism had a positive compelling on was America's wealthiest.
With Reagan in office, his Reaganomics gave a tax cut to the wealthiest in plans to give, in
which they called a “trickle - down theory”, thriving for the general population; in that success
would spill out of the highest point of the stepping stool to the base. This would empower the
wealthiest to put resources into the economy that would give employments to the American
people (Barnes & Bowles, 2015).
An essential issue happening today is racial profiling or bigotry/stereotyping. As such,
individuals having one-sided view of another in light of their race, ethnicity, nationality, or
religion. Beyond any doubt we have made considerable progress since the turn of the twentieth
century yet as I would see it, we still have a lot to about this particular issue. History provides a
better understanding of racial profiling since prejudice has always been a major issue. History
contains an understanding of the occasions that happened, the battles many individuals of all
