The impact of Covid-19 has drastically affected the meat processing workers, the
Latino nursing staff, and the Latino elderly, together with related demographic groups in
several ways. It has negatively changed the way these sectors operate by exposing them to
the risk of infection (Waltenburg et al., 2020). With the new rules and regulations brought
forward by WHO, meat processing workers, the Latino nursing staff, and the Latino
elderly have found it extremely difficult to administer its operations in a suitable
environment as they were before. The introduction of social distancing rules, wearing of
face masks, and social distancing protocols have severely impacted the operations of meat
processing workers, the Latino nursing staff, and the Latino elderly sectors.
Covid-19 has impacted meat processing workers in different ways. First, it has led
to the loss of jobs due to the reduced supply of meat, resulting from the reduced market as
customers are quarantined and prevented from normal shopping processes. The loss of
employment among meat processing workers due to Covid-19 has negatively transitioned
the lives of workers in the meat sector, as discussed by Hafez et al. (2021). Such impacts
have led to poor financial income in the form of salaries and remunerations from the
companies, which has reduced their income. As a result of poor pay, meat processing
workers have undergone economic recession because the companies they work with have
retrenched several employees with the aim of retaining only a few ones throughout the
pandemic period.
Due to the poor pay and loss of jobs among the meat processing workers, their
social and labor protection has been rendered null based on the poor financial exposition
entitled to them in the pandemic era. Despite the financial insecurities revealed by the
