WHEN DO PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS START?
Introduction
There are ways developed to tell whether or not one is pregnant without even referring to the traditional
method; where one misses her periods. More often than not research has shown that some pregnant
women exhibit non-specific symptoms of being pregnant as early as the first week of conception apart
from the common symptoms such as vomiting and nausea. However, having the knowledge of your
pregnancy status helps you to plan and devise ways ahead for a healthy pregnancy.
How soon do the symptoms show?
Researchers and investigators have carried out a number of studies which answer the question exactly
when do pregnancy symptoms start and according to their findings; the process of fertilization of the egg
takes place within the first 12 hours of ovulation. The process does not exceed 24 hours post ovulation
because atretic changes commence to show. Implantation of the zygote takes about 7-10 days after
ovulation. For most women, it is very rare to notice any symptoms of pregnancy until after the zygote’s
implantation. This is averaged to about four weeks into pregnancy where the pregnancy is calculated from
the last menstrual cycle. It has been documented as a fact that the more time a female delays after
ovulation the more precise it is to determine the pregnancy. Therefore the best time for one to test
pregnancy is the day when the menstrual period is due.
What are some of the early pregnancy symptoms?
Every female is different from the other, therefore is important to keep in mind that not all symptoms
discussed below should be experienced by a single pregnant female. So, do not get alarmed when one or
two traits do not show up in your pregnancy journey. Here are some of the pregnancy symptoms to
expect:
1. High basal body temperature (BBT)
