My previous institution, the Rasmussen College is a privately owned college. It is

relatively small and offers limited challenge to become better. The community is small with very

few chances of encountering diverse personalities. Washington College of pharmacy on the other

hand is a large institution which offers an all round holistic experience to its students, and is

located at a large city with endless possibilities. Some of the reasons why I felt that I need the

change by transferring to Washington are discussed below.

First, Rasmussen College is too far away from home. At times I get too homesick and

depressed and this reduces my concentration in class leading to undesirable grades. It is also a

small college in a small community and with relatively few students compared to Washington.

The facilities at this college are very limited and this limits students’ access leading to

inadequate preparation for examinations as well as the career life after graduating. I want to be at

a place where I’ll feel challenged to become better as at Rasmussen the challenge and motivation

is subsequently very low. Also, Rasmussen does not offer many opportunities in terms of big
