AFFORDABLE CARE ACT 2
The patients protection and affordable care act, which is known as the Affordable Care
ACT or Obamacare is a United States federal statute that was enacted by the former US president
Barack Obama to cater for the health of individuals. However, there exist different arguments
that have existed as a result of the act. Most of the citizens in the United States have not been
very interested with this act since it does not support healthcare as many of the individuals say.
Definitely, most of the arguments have been based on that this facility has increased the
healthcare cost of individuals. Primarily, it is important to note that the former president enacted
ACA in order to ensure that the citizens’ rights to health have been followed. However, the act
has resulted to many arguments and which has created various proposal from the citizens. The
new proposal has various arguments against the ACA. For example, there exist conditions and
annual limits, takes children away from their parents, restricts Medicaid eligibility, and
eliminates tax credits for the middle class among other proposals (Antos et al., 2016).
The proposal that I have chosen is elimination of tax credits for the middle class. Before
the ACA was enacted, it was primarily known that it will cater for the middle class. For example,
the middle class were to spend less amount of money to be treated. However, various arguments
have been based that the ACA does not cater for the middle class. With the rise of cost in the
healthcare facilities, it is true that the ACA does not provide any support for not only the middle
class but also the rest of the Americans. The proposal differs from the ACA since it does not
support healthcare for the middle class. In almost the United States, most of the middle class
individuals have not been employed. This has created many of the middle class not to be treated
as possible. The tax for the middle class has gone very high and, as we all understand, the middle
class do not have enough money to cater for their needs as they are not working. Most of them
usually depend on their parents.
