PRODUCT CUSTOMER PROMOTION 2
Product customer promotions
Pepsi is a widely known product in the beverage market. The product has however faced
competition from other brands of beverages which has led to development of strategies that will
make customers have it as their preference and not others. Some of the promotional activities
used by the Pepsi Company include;
1. Trade allowances- the Pepsi Company has continued to recognize some of the companies
which feature its brand. For example, in the supermarkets and retail shops where Pepsi
drinks are found, the company offers financial allowances that enable these shops to
continue selling the product (Ogden & Ogden, 2014). Featuring of the Pepsi drink in the
wholesale and retail shops is a way through which the product is taken closer to the
customers. The method is also used as a way of making the customers feel that they have
a company that takes into consideration their needs. In doing so, the Pepsi Company has
benefited in marketing its products all over the world.
2. Trade contests- the Pepsi Company has taken its products in contests which are aimed at
showing the product’s reliability and suitability as a drink in the world market. The
contests offered by this company are aimed at making all the shops whether retail or
wholesalers, where the Pepsi beverage is sold, to increase the amount of sales thus
widening the products customer base (Shaer, 2009). On the other hand, the company
uses the contests as a way of motivating the sellers so that they can be determined to sell
more of the Pepsi products. For instance, the company has taken retailers and wholesalers
through business trips that have given them a ground of understanding the Pepsi product
into details.
