Introduction
In this paper, the main point of focus will be the article ‘Inside the world of Bangui’s
Traumatized Street Children”. The article narrates the story of Bangui children who are traumatized
because of constant war in their country. The essence of this paper is the evaluation of the major
causes of trauma which represents one of the distress factors in the field of psychology; how severe
trauma is to children, its possible repercussions, and how it can be remedied.
Overview of the article
‘Inside the world of Bangui’s Traumatized street children narrates about the life children
who were victims of the brutal ethnic conflicts which took place in the capital city of Bangui, the
Central African Republic, about four years ago. In this situation, children were rendered
homeless and many decided to flee away from their home and turn to the streets (Inna, 2016).
Children in the streets had no shelter, clothes or food to survive on. As time elapsed, many
children died due to the unbearable conditions they were going through. The picture below is
the image of the children sitting down in the street, very helpless, tired, hungry, and thirsty.
