Executive Summary
Aramex Corporation is a company that provides global logistics and transportation
services through the provision of a variety of freight forwarding, logistics, and express as well as
domestic distribution services. The headquarters of the company is at Amman, in Jordan,
established in the year 1982. The company provides a wide variety of retail services such as mail
forwarding services and mail order catalog services. It provides a wide range of transportation
and logistics solutions. It is among the leading global providers of such comprehensive services
in the transmission of services, goods and parcels from one point in the globe to the other. The
company developed an express model of service delivery, which led to its rapid evolution to a
recognized and reputable brand across the world. For instance, the company is reputable for its
innovative multi-product offering as well as customized services (Fortune & Peters, 2007).
The company also has a global presence in the stock markets exchange, whereby it was among
the first companies based in the Arab league and undertaking international business to trade its
shares on the NASDAQ stocks exchange. The company listed as a public company and traded
successfully for a period of five years before it returned to private ownership on February 2002.
Nonetheless, its prosperity and success did not relent due to its change is the ownership structure.
It continued with its expansion spree as well as productivity excellence even after converting to a
private company. This was through a number of global alliances and partnerships that it formed
during its growth, leading it to gain a stronger brand on a global scale. The company then
returned into public trading sphere whereby in June 2005 it listed again on the Dubai Financial
markets (DFM). The company was trading as Arab International Logistics (Aramex) and its
shares traded under the name ARMX (Friedman, 2007).
Nowadays, Aramex has an employee portfolio of over 12,300 personnel. In addition, the
