ANALYSING GOOGLE’S MISSION STATEMENT
Google is the company that I frequently visit. Their mission statement is “Google’s mission is to organize
the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.” The central focus of Google’s
mission is organizing information so as to make it useful to the consumers. From the mission statement, I
gather that the company puts first the interests of the consumers. This is the reason they endeavor to
organize the information to make it useful and universally accessible. Google’s mission statement
addresses all the 8 components of an effective mission statement. It is clear on its market which is
universal. It also has product-service bit incorporated in the mission statement. The geographical domain
of the company is stated categorically; the universe. Organizing the information is based on technology.
By stating that they want the information to be useful, Google show their concern for survival in the
mission statement. Google’s mission statement is constructed from the belief they have about what is
required of them: reliable information. Lastly, they have a concern for the public image as they state that
they want to provide reliable, useful information across the globe.
