CONFLICT RESOLUTION TECHNIQUE 2
Conflict Resolution Technique
In ‘Ten Simple Rules for avoiding and resolving conflicts with your colleagues’ Lewitter,
Bourne and Attwood, 2019 notes that people spend a substantial amount of time speaking with
others in our personal and professional lives. In truth, communication is one of the most vital,
but also one of the most difficult, things we do, with the ability to unite or divide individuals and
societies. As a result, doing it properly is critical. Modern technology has had a big influence on
how we communicate now, allowing us to express our opinions with coworkers, family, or
friends at the push of a button. However, faster communication does not necessarily result in
better interaction technologies we frequently cut ourselves off from the visual cues that are so
important to comprehend each other's true meaning and make it a lot easier to misread each
other's true intentions. As a result, our encounters might be surprisingly challenging or go
unexpectedly bad. Given the importance of communication in the health and productivity of
relationships, how can we best make our interactions function, and how can we resolve conflicts
when they arise?
Based on experience, the author devised ten basic principles that we believe will be
useful. Many of these guidelines may be applied to the types of communication we may engage
in. The ten include treating people with respect and equality, always speaking your mind, and
engaging in honest communication. More so, other factors describe the technique such as
apologizing when wronged, knowing when to fight and when to leave, before you send anything
just pause and reflect on the issue. Be sure to be on the same page when engaging in
conversations this will reflect on the techniques of conflict resolutions. Lastly, when the problem
has not been resolved, then it is right to distance from the problem.
