SECURE VIDEOCONFERENCING COMMUNICATIONS (SVC) PROPOSAL 2
Functional Requirements for Videoconferencing
This is a functional requirement when an information system specifies how it should act
or establishes what the system should do. Defining them before implementing or producing
anything is critical to ensure that everything functions properly together. Videoconferencing
technology enables geographically separated to participate in lengthy talks, file sharing, and even
social activities (Lifesize, 2020). With this kind of technology, audio, video, recording, file
sharing, presence notification, dialogue, and polling are all conceivable. Additionally, these
systems may include several security features, such as encryption, to safeguard your data. On the
other hand, many videoconferencing systems are prone to security issues such as espionage,
files, images, or other data collecting.
Videoconferencing systems, whether hardware- or software-based, may employ several
network protocols. Specific web-based videoconferencing systems operate without the need for
additional hardware or software (Lifesize, 2020). They are often available for free or at a very
cheap cost. On the other hand, a more complex system would cost several thousand dollars. Real-
time conferencing systems exchange audio and video over a network by using digital compression
technologies such as codecs.
The absence of a secure video conferencing technology is a significant constraint in our
current configuration. The following are some of the talents sought by this proposal (Lifesize,
2020): The system should work 24 hours a day. This is necessary if we are to work on a global
basis. Secure messaging with high-definition video and screen sharing should be incorporated as
part of the service. Additionally, a high level of security and encryption must be compatible with
all other technologies on the system. Finally, they must be capable of supporting up to 25 people
concurrently and have a system for authenticating who is on the line. Zoom, Skype, and Cisco
