Comparison of Christianity, Islam and Judaism
Christianity, Islam, and Judaism form three of the largest and most prominent international
religions both presently and as history as fairly documented. Although the later that has just
fewer than twenty million believers is not as enormous as the former two, its influence on the
human race has been just as monumental as the other two. The three are habitually referred to
as “Abrahamic religions" mapping out their origins from Abraham as referred to initially in
the Hebrew Bible ("Christianity And Islam And Judaism - Religionfacts"). With this in mind
this paper will endeavor to outline clearly the major similarities and differences between the
three above mentioned religions.
The unifying factor that brings of all these Abrahamic religions together is their acceptance of
God revealing himself to the patriarch that all believe to be Abraham. They are monotheistic,
and consider God a supreme creator and the basis of all ethical edicts. Nonetheless, the
avowal of God’s oneness by Christians is from time to time misconstrued, since Christians
accept as true God being triune. Conversely, this is more a confirmation of God’s complexity
than a renunciation of monotheism ("Judaism, Christianity, And Islam - Similarities And
Differences").
Christianity, Islam, and Judaism consider God to be the creator of all life and that which
surrounds it in earth and in the universe. This God is compassionate and desires that all His
creation be well ("Christianity and Islam And Judaism - Religionfacts"). All three affirm that
he is a just God and has set out straightforward guidelines to help those that believe in Him
attain righteous.

All three Abrahamic religions consider human beings to be at the peak of all creation. Human
are the descendants of Abraham and as such were created by God with great mystery and
with the prospective of growing continuously at individual level and as a species. They are
adept of to do good as well as evil and can only be in the likeliness of God if they grow in
love, righteousness and goodness ("Judaism, Christianity, And Islam - Similarities And
Differences"). Abusing these freedoms and harming other creation and its environment goes
against the plan God has in mind making them evil. As such all three believe that as each
human being has the ability they can always with God’s help rebuff evil, repent and turn to
this God and thus all human beings owe their glorification, obedience and devotion to God.
However difficult and challenging the present as well as past may seem all of Judaism,
Christianity and Islam believes in a future full of hope. Distress and evil can only go on for so
long and ultimately never triumph. All the three believe in a condition made possible by God,
which all agree to term as Paradise (albeit referred to using different names in all the three
religions) in the future that will entail and exemplify God's unobstructed instruction; absolute
happiness for all that will be there with God.
Further, in all these Abrahamic religions, the prospect of an individual who will bring about
the Kingdom of God on Earth is a strong meeting point; Judaism expects the coming of the
Jewish Messiah. However, the Jewish conception of the Messiah varies from that held by
Christians in numerous substantial ways, in spite of both religions using the matching word.
The Jewish Messiah is more a mortal man and less as a "god", who is made worthy to be a
Messiah as a result of their holiness and His revelation will mark the start of the world to
come. On the other hand, Christianity waits on the Christ’s Second Coming and Islam waits
