Change always brings resistance. The organizations, individuals, processes and systems
are always going through a process of persistent change. This struggle and desire to bring the

Resistance to Change Student Name College/University Abstract Change always brings resistance. The organizations, individuals, processes and systems are always going through a process of persistent change. Self-interest There are many internal and external factors which are primarily responsible for resistance to change. Firstly, self interest in the major reason that the people resist the change. By self interest we here imply that there might be individuals and groups who might be at a disadvantage if the change occurs. Few individuals may be benefitting financially or in any other way and status quo may be the choice for them. If change brings a situation where they feel that their interest is at stake, it might result in resistance. Anderson contends (2013), “By just being self centric, the people may be against the idea and due to their resistance, and the problems may arise”.
