Strengths of the policy
The policy has enabled low-income earners to access premium healthcare packages.
Race-based access to healthcare has been greatly reduced. The policy has created uniformity in
accessing healthcare services and the immigrants are receiving equal services as the native
population. The gap between the whites and non-whites in receiving medical funds has been
greatly reduced. The differences in the quality of healthcare services based on social class,
geographical location, and cultures have been greatly improved (Feng et.al., 2019). Healthcare
infrastructure has been made available both in rural and urban areas. The policy has greatly
played a role in eliminating disparity in the healthcare sector.
Weaknesses of the policy
Among the weakness of the new policy is corruption. There is massive embezzlement of
the funds set aside to develop the medical infrastructure in rural areas and funds set aside for the
low-class population. Secondly, the issue of bureaucracy is a challenge in ensuring that disparity
is eliminated in the healthcare sector (Tummers, 2017). Besides, the issue of poor planning is a
challenge to the policy. The plans on how to ensure there are co-payments, deductibles, and
premiums have been a major challenge.
Effect of change of policy on clinical social workers and patients
The policy would result in re-designing of the hospital work where major changes of the
social workers will increase. The number of less-skilled social workers will increase greatly
while the number of patients will equally increase. Hospitals would show great care to patients in
the most acute phases of their illness. The increased number of patients would mean that social
