Navigating the Multiparty Negotiations
1. Negotiation
Both parties should come an agreement on how to solve a particular problem in the
presence of a third party. This will not only solve the problem but also save the
relationship of the both parties. This is because the problem is solved on a common
ground.
2. Joint-fact finding
The third party works in between the two parties to help them in generating data that will
be relevant in solving the problem
3. Win-win solutions
The third party should develop a win-win solution that satisfies both parties in the ruling.
4. Arbitration
The third party has the mandate to make a ruling depending on the evidence and the
information given by the parties. The third party ruling becomes the final.
5. Mediation
The third party neutrally facilitates the communication between or among the parties
involved to the agreement of the parties in solving the solution.
6. Neutral evaluation
The third party usually looks into the positions of the evidence and facts of the parties
and assesses the situation well to arrive to a solution.
7. Consensus-building
This solutions looks into providing recommendations to a problem which is arrived at by
the third party.
